A Tubing Adventure!

Guests can relax in the river and chill out on our tubes at most points throughout the year. It’s the rainy season where things get exciting, though. The river gets high enough so that you can easily travel down the river. There aren’t a lot of ways you can move without engine power that aren’t physically intense. Getting around assisted by the power of water currents tends to bring into focus an awareness of what’s going on around you in nature, but mostly, it’s just plain old fashion good fun. The environment

Your group will depart from basecamp on our in-house transportation and drive up to one of several launch points we may use, depending on the time of day or year. We can arrange for longer or shorter journeys depending on your schedule. Once you launch you will find yourself in the clear waters of the Nabaoi River. The river is generally shallow and slow moving with only a few sections deeper than the average standing height. 

The river itself takes you through wide areas of countryside. As with civilizations everywhere, water sources are a lifeline and a large attraction for any local population. You will often travel by farm houses, huts, villages & plantations – getting a great picture of what everyday life is like in this local area of the Philippines. The river is clear and has very little man made garbage floating about. You won’t think twice about getting in to enjoy!

Tubing Challenges?

Great news! On most days there are few challenges, and virtually no hazards. Anyone planning on a tube ride should know how to swim a little bit or be tethered to someone who is a good swimmer, not because it’s dangerous, but because that’s just best practice in the water. If you come into a stretch of river you don’t feel personally comfortable with, you can almost always stand up and walk around it. As far as rivers go, this one provides you with a rewarding, relaxing ride. In the rainy season, we sometimes get consecutive days with heavy rain in the mountains – runoff may be enhanced and the river deeper and swifter. These are great days to go tubing as well, but common sense dictates you should be a better swimmer and in fair, to good shape. Children should be accompanied by an adult. Our guide will also accompany you down the river to ensure everything goes smoothly.
